Moai Megaliths
Feel the spiritual connection with the moai during this tour of the east side of Rapa Nui, visiting the biggest monuments and statues of the island. Duration approximately 6 hours.
1. Sunrise at Ahu Tongariki – We welcome the sun and connect with the ancient spirits in a meditation during the sunrise at Ahu Tongariki, which is the largest monument of the island with 15 impressive restored statues standing tall.
2. Rano Raraku – In this volcanic statue quarry where almost all statues were made we will see the whole production process with our own eyes. One day, hundreds of years ago, the workers left, and the volcano has been left untouched ever since.
3. Te Pito Kura – This is where we find the biggest moai that was ever successfully raised on an ahu platform.
4. We will finish the day at the beach Anakena. This is where our king Hotu Matu’a arrived when colonizing the island a thousand years ago, and it became the territory of the royal tribe for hundreds of years.

Make-Make God
Visit highlights in the central and southwestern parts of the island. Duration approximately 4 hours.
1. Puna Pau – This is the volcanic crater where all the topknots for the moai were quarried.
2. Ahu Akivi – This monument with seven restored moai statues are the only ones that face the ocean. They have a special astronomical connection in relation to the autumn and spring equinoxes.
3. Rano Kau viewpoint – We will have a stunning view of one of the most beautiful sceneries of Rapa Nui, which is the crater of volcano Rano Kau. This is by far the widest crater of the island, with an impressive diameter of 1.6 km.
4. Orongo – At the edge of volcano Rano Kau, this ceremonial village was built. Towards of the end of the ancient times, yearly competitions were held here to elect the new king, or “birdman”, to rule the island for the coming twelve months.

Camping
Camping at the top of volcano Poike is an awe-inspiring experience with one of the most stunning views of the island. Duration approximately 24 hours.
We will hike up volcano Poike and camp at the top. From here we will have a spectacular view of the sun bathing all of Rapa Nui in its warm colors at it sets over the island. We will watch the stars during the night and discuss legends about the Virgin Cave, located on this volcano. In the morning we will be able to see the sun rise above the horizon over the vast Pacific Ocean.

Path of Peace
This coastal city tour by foot lets you in on our current reality in the contemporary society of today, as well as linking this to our ancient past. Duration approximately 4 hours.
1. Hanga Vare-Vare – This is the area where our biggest festival, Tapati Rapa Nui, is held every year. The swimming pools of this area is where we all play and have fun as kids up until today. We share wonderful stories about the contemporary Moai of Peace, which is located in this area.
2. Iron Angels – This contemporary collection of art is made from recycled materials, and represents our ongoing and everlasting goal of caring for our island and its environment.
3. Graveyard – This is where most deceased locals have been buried the latest decades. The individually designed tombs and tombstones are a wonderful example of the amazing artistic talent and inspiration of the rapa nui people.
4. Tahai – Several restored moai statues can be seen standing on their platforms here among the archaeological remains of this ancient village. This area has the only moai with eyes restored.
5. Lunch – Will have lunch overlooking the ancient moai statues by the ocean at one of the island’s best restaurants; Moai Sunset.
