Our vision

Mata Ki Te Rangi was born as a dream of Vi’e Varua to be able to carry out spiritual routes in Rapa Nui, where visitors are people aware of global warming and climate change, ecology and spirituality, who are lovers of reflections and philosophy, and also respect the environment and the mysteries of Rapa Nui.

The purpose of Mata Ki Te Rangi is to give people who tour the island with us the opportunity to experience true spiritual tourism, where they can connect with the culture and spirituality of the different places they visit, not just learning about the history that each place keeps, but also that they can understand and know the mysteries that each site keeps and how these can be related to each one, thus allowing them to make a journey into their own interior.

Why choose us?

With Mata Ki Te Rangi, the visitor does not travel with a multinational company, but rather with a local and authentic agency, in which the tours are done in small groups (maximum 10 passengers), placing the visitor at the center of everything. what we do, ensuring the transmission of knowledge and the enjoyment of an intimate, welcoming and trusting environment that allows them to achieve a full connection with each place they visit.

Our commitment is to create unique itineraries focused on generating a sustainable and unique experience, always with a high standard of service, and that our visitors live new adventures, connect with the environment, enjoy the simple and open up to new cultures, experiences and philosophies.

Our team

Piki Pakarati

Vi’e Varua – Spiritual Leader

I am Magdalena Pakarati and I was born in Rapa Nui. I descend from the Miru or Toko Terangi clan. I am a spiritual woman, mother of 6 children, healer, teacher of tauromi (massage) and ancestral medicine, practitioner of veganism, vegetarianism and macrobiotic nutrition, animal lover and defender of sustainability in all its fields.

As a daughter of this land, since I was little I was related to the cultural and ancestral worldview of my Rapanui ethnic group, which has been maintained thanks to the oral tradition passed down from generation to generation. This allowed my mother, from a very young age, among many other traditions, to pass on to me her deep knowledge of ancestral Rapanui natural medicine, which motivated me to perfect myself in various disciplines associated with that knowledge. Thus, in 1993 I settled in Australia, where I carried out various studies related to reflexology, aromatherapy, therapeutic massages, obtaining the title of “Certificate IV in Massage Threrapy Practice” from the University of Victoria. Along with this, I improve myself annually in the spiritual field at the Hermetic Philosophical Institute of Chile and I have been involved in ecology from a very early age and also in issues of conservation of natural and cultural resources, having the opportunity to travel to different parts of the world. as part of the Okavango team led by Nicolas Hulot, a renowned international environmentalist, and also with the Moai de la Paz project.

For more than 30 years I have been perfecting myself in natural medicine, massages, reflexology, and especially in healing through ancestral herbs, especially matu’a pua. And as a connoisseur of this land and its mysteries, and thanks to my years of experience as a tour guide, I seek to take care of Rapa Nui and that its visitors can also know and take care of this magical place.
